On behalf of the MWCEA flight crew, we are delighted that you are with us on Flight MWCEA 2019. This year's conference is highlighted with informative sessions in several aspects of Workers' Compensation and we also promise to inspire you with a story from the western frontier and the world of rodeo. The 2019 MWCEA keynote speaker Amberley Snyder's true story of grit and determination to never give up on her dreams encourages us all to have the fortitude to carry on even in the face of adversity.
We will then fast forward into the future with a variety of topics, including a panel discussion with a practicing neurosurgeon and the Commission's medical director, as they discuss the effect of an injury to the lumbar spine, the preferred methods of treatment, and what's in store for the future of spinal medicine.

MWCEA's 2019, Keynote Speaker Amberley Snyder, is a well-known, competitive barrel racer who has been inspiring thousands with her testimony of the 2010 car accident that left the rodeo star a paraplegic at the age of 19.
At the time, she was driving to the Denver Stock Show and Rodeo when she took a moment to look down at a map. With her eyes diverted, her truck moved into the other lane and headed towards a metal beam. When Snyder overcorrected, the truck slid off the road, and she was ejected from the vehicle because she wasn't wearing a seatbelt. Her body's impact with a fence post broke her back, and she immediately lost feeling in her legs.
Today, the 28-year-old can't quantify how many times she competes in a year, and when she's not on her horse, she's sharing her story with others online and through multiple speaking engagements recalling her journey to recovery. Her story can be seen in the new Netflix film, Walk. Ride. Rodeo.
